R.I.P. Chef

If you didn't catch the season premier of South Park the other night, Chef was killed. This follows the controversy of his alleged departure from the show over the episode when they lampooned Scientology. There are reports that Isaac Hayes never asked to leave the show since he's been recovering from a recent stroke. The stroke story is true because he had to cancel a show at The Depot in Salt Lake back in January.

Wear Shorts For Spring!

I'm wacky with spring fever! It's going to be in the 60's today and tomorrow! Put on your shorts (or take off your pants, whichever applies) and party for springtime.

Yeah, it's going to get colder and crappy on Sunday, but let's enjoy what we can.

Zingers

I'm sitting here craving the Zingers that are in our vending machine. Not the chocolate ones, the vanilla ones with the yellow frosting stuff. I haven't had Zingers in years, but damn, they look good.

Two Kitties

I mentioned last week that my wife and I were going to get a kitten. Well ... we did. When we went to pick up the kitten, his siblings were so cute that we ended up bringing home two kittens. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I'm turning into the Crazy Kitty Lady's crazy husband.

Anyway, here they are...

Meet Bella and Nemo. They look sweet and innocent, but trust me: they're crazy.

Old Demolition Derby Pictures

These photos are from the Salt Lake County Fair DJ demolition derby from 2001. I never had the chance to post them on the old X96 site back then, and in the process of unpacking a few boxes in the new home, I came across these pictures.

This is me smashing into the U92 car.

Is there a bit of red-neck blood in my veins if I enjoy this sort of activity?

I won first place. Here's the handshake between the U92 driver and me.

All those years of attending demolition derbies in Ogden, Hooper, Morgan, and Heber paid off. In 2002, the fair hosted another DJ derby, and I came back and drove for KJQ--this was the year when I was off of X96 and programming KJQ, which is now 103.1 Jack FM. I won first place again in 2002.

Yes, I am a true hick.
