I know some of you are sick of my shameless self promotion concerning my newest novel, RATED F. I do want to thank those who have shelled out your hard earned cash for the book--I know it's overpriced and I know it's sometimes hard to find. But thanks. Seriously.

While it is far from the best-seller list, a few good things have been happening as it continues to sell slowly and steadily. I came across a review posted by a complete stranger, and I want to share that with you.

1:20 p.m. "Talkin' Bout a Revolution" Reel Big Fish

Now the Reel Big Fish song is a cool tune, I guess. But this is Reel Big Fish? What happened to silly, bouncy-ass songs about lesbians? I think they're taking themselves a bit too seriously if they've resorted to doing a cover of an old Tracy Chapman tune. Did they forget that their band is named Reel Big Fish?

Did they forget that they once wrote a song called "Sell Out"?

Uh-oh.

I buy rock salt!

As a proud owner of a beautiful new water softener, I now feel like I'm a member of the 'in' crowd. I know that a water softener is about the lamest thing I could spend a couple thousand dollars on, but look at the positives.

*No longer will I have icky hardwater deposits to chisel away when I clean the shower.
*No longer will I be jealous of my next door neighbor who has a Culligan Gold Series, featuring the AccuSoft® Microprocessor for maximum efficiency.
*Now I can proudly walk past the heaps of bagged rock salt outside of Dick's Market with full intentions of purchasing a few.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, my long battle with hard water is now over.
