I Played Boingo Today!

Sorry. I get excited about Oingo Boingo sometimes. I played a request for "Insanity" from Boingo today on Nuke 'Em's 90's at Noon. Don't I get an extra pat on the back for playing Boingo? I think so.

I once saw Oingo Boingo and Red Hot Chili Peppers in concert in PARK CITY.

[The invasion is imminent...]

The History of Todd Nuke 'Em

Last night I took my parents to dinner at The Shed in South Ogden at 3969 South Wall Avenue. This is a fairly new location with important historical significance. It was in that building where I first entered the workforce at the tender age of sixteen. At the time, that building housed a Golden Corral Family Steakhouse. My first part time job was doing dishes and cleaning the restrooms. I'd come home after 11 p.m. on school nights soaking wet from doing dishes, smelling like steak and grease. I worked there for over three years, eventually taking on salad bar duties within the restaurant.

While the layout of the building has changed, the restroom area is still the same. You can take a tour of the men's room and women's room and see the exact tile floor I used to mop for $3.35 per hour. The salad bar has long since been removed, god rest its soul. I left the restaurant industry at the ripe old age of 18 when Bill Allred hired me to as an overnight producer for an AM station in Ogden.

And here I am today. Thanks for listening to X96. Without your support, I'd still be working for a living.

Don't forget that I still know how to prep a mean salad bar ... and potato bar! Bring on the lettuce!

Todd's iPod songs for Thursday 3/31

10:20 a.m. "Goodnight, Goodnight" Hot Hot Heat (Hot Hot Heat = cool)
1:20 p.m. "Landslide" The Smashing Pumpkins (Excellent lyrics on this old Fleetwood Mac tune. God, I love good lyrics.)

peace,

nukey

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is my mom's birthday! Give it up for Todd Nuke 'Em's mom, ladies and gentlemen. She always hoped her son would turn out to be a respectable member of society, and here I am playing punk rock on the radio for a living. But that's cool. Mom loves Green Day.

Tonight it's a birthday dinner with my parents, LeRoy and ViAnn. Don't my parents have the coolest names?

Todd's iPod songs for Wednesday 3/30

10:20 a.m. "My December" Linkin Park (Isn't the weather more like December than March? Come on, bring on spring!)

1:20 p.m. "Sugar, We're Goin' Down" Fallout Boy (Props to my bro Corey O'Brien for finding this song. It's some good kick-ass stuff.)

Happy birthday mom. I love you.

(Yeah, I'm a mama's boy.)

So ... should I cut my hair?

I've been thinking of cutting my hair. No. Not just cutting it. Buzzing it. Shaving it. I've worn it long for over a year, and I'm thinking that it's time for a change. So why not make a drastic change?

Todd's Ipod songs for Tuesday 3/29

10:20 "Ruby Soho" Rancid (Because we all need some Rancid every once in a while.)

1:20 "Head On" The Jesus and Mary Chain (A classic from the old KJQ days.)

So ... what do you think? Should I buzz the hair?

Thanks for reading this drivel.

The Easter Bunny Dyed Easter Eggs For Your Sins

Todd's Ipod songs for Monday 3/28

10:20 a.m. "Superman's Dead" Our Lady Peace (Expect a new album from them in late summer 2005.)

1:20 "Catch My Disease" Ben Lee (recorded live in the Airwaves Cultural Hall)

Last night I watched the movie Requiem for a Dream. Nothing says "Happy Easter" like that film. It's one of my favorites and I recommend it if you're brave enough for such a gritty movie with harsh subject matter.

Thanks for reading my blog.
