120 feet of Atlas code 83 HO scale snap-track

If you're a train nerd, you'll notice that today's post is about HO scale trains. Yes, the new house actually has a basement, and I'm about to build my model railroad. This time I'm starting from scratch without the prefabricated scenery. My track arrived today, so the fun shall begin. I'll post photos as I go.

A Slight Case of Spring Fever

I want springtime right now. I want to get the mountain bike out and ride, I want to go hiking, I want to set up a hammock and doze on the patio.

Unfortunately my legs haven't seen the sun in months, and I'm wearing shorts today.

Listen today at 1:20 for an interview with Jared Leto from 30 Seconds to Mars. He'll give us the details on the rescheduled show.

Rap on, rap on, brother ... rap on.

And the band played Ball of Confusion.

I have a confession. I have created an 80's alternative playlist in Todd's iPod and I like to listen to it at home. Don't get me wrong. I love X96, and I listen to it more than you do, I promise. But my little 80's playlist of old alternative stuff is a treat.

That's where I found this gem...

Rejection # 43

***Before you read what's posted below, please know that I wrote it within a few minutes of getting a rejection message from a hot-shot literary agent in New York. Things are fine. I am lucky to have what I already have. The book is still up for an award and there is something else big on the way for sure. I was just hoping for a big break-through.

And now, my moody post...

I'm an aspiring novelist. I'm working constantly to make my books successful. There are usually several opportunities being simultaneously explored with my work to broaden their chances of "making it."

Today I received news that RATED F was rejected for what could have been a huge break. I'm trying to pretend like it doesn't depress me and that every best selling author goes through tons of rejections. But it still sucks and it still bums me out.

There are still two other pending situations with the book, but I hate it when they fall through. On the bright side these two other opportunities are still looking good.

But damn. When will I ever see this thing take off?
