How Firm A Foundation...

Today is the day that the foundation for our new home will be poured. This means that there will be wet concrete, and I feel that I should carve some sort of clever saying into it. What should I write? You tell me.

Oh, Crap!

Damn it! I didn't mean to. But I did. I started to write another novel this morning. I just barely finished the rough draft of a novel that I wrote with the young and brilliant-beyond-his-years Zack Shutt. We're not even done editing that one, and I had to go and start writing another. This will be a terrific waste of time if I don't have half the success of a guy like Stephen King. One of these damn books I've written (or will write) should be a massive best-seller. Shouldn't it?

Join me today from 6 to 8 at Ken Garff Nissan of Orem 285 West University Parkway. I'll have free stuff...

Wake me up when September ends

I went to the BYU game on Saturday. (Don't ask. I come from a long family line of BYU football fans.) "Game" might not be the correct word. Perhaps "ass-whipping" or "suck-fest" would more accurately reflect what happened to the once-mighty Cougars. It doesn't look good.

I was amused to hear music on the public address speakers at LaVell Edwards Stadium from Van Halen, Led Zepplin, Michael Jackson, and other artists that my seminary teachers said we shouldn't listen to. True, "Jump" by Van Halen isn't bad at all, but on their previous album, weren't they "running with the devil?" Twenty years later, what was once evil becomes innocuous. In the year 2025 will we hear Marilyn Manson at BYU games?

Remember: I was cheering for my favorite team, the guys in the striped shirts.
