Rated F ... again!

The new cover of the re-release of Rated F is now officially available for me to post. The new version of the book should be available within a few weeks. You know I'll keep you informed with all the details.

Since the novel was picked up by the new publisher just under a year ago, I've had to stop all promotion of the book. It's been tough, because I'm eager to push this book to the next level. Now it's gearing up again.

Don't forget that it's another X96 Shuffle Weekend. Artie Fufkin will press the Shuffle button today at 3:00 p.m.

10:20 am "Infra-Red" Placebo
1:20 pm "Hey There Delilah" Plain White T's (Thanks to Corey O'Brien for informing me about this song.)

Exercise One

As long as they don't know that I'm aware of them, then everything will be fine. So I have to observe, stealthily, what I can without being noticed. Call it a game of cat and mouse, but I'm not sure if I'm the feline or the rodent.

I keep my curtains closed--but not all the way. My spying is my salvation from whatever they have planned for me. If I know their plan, then surely I can escape. It is necessary to be certain of the timing. Knowing when is almost better than knowing what. Quite simply, I need to be ready.

The maneuvering occurs round the clock. This is not some nocturnal activity of hidden shadows and rustles when I lie awake in bed. (Awake, but with my eyes closed. I must appear oblivious.) The old standard of Things That Go Bump In The Night is antiquated.

This is life. And hopefully not death.

Sorry about today's post. I haven't been working on a new novel for a while and I felt the urge to B.S. a little bit. Feel free to finish this short story in the comments section.

United 93

I saw the movie United 93 a couple of weeks ago. Despite the tough subject addressed in the film, I thought it was important. It's ugly, and you have to relive September 11th, 2001 all over again, but this is the world in which we live. Hiding from it only makes us that much more vulnerable.

I recommend seeing this film.

Shuffle Weekend?

Do you want an X96 Shuffle Weekend this weekend? It's been a while.

Let me know.

10:20 am "So Alive" Love and Rockets
1:20 pm "Hump de Bump" Red Hot Chili Peppers (We couldn't do a listening party because Warner Brothers Records wouldn't give us the CD's until today. Even though the album has been illegally on the Internet for weeks. Uh-huh. Whatever.)

X96 Big Ass Show 2006

Any suggestions for bands this year? Keep in mind that we want to keep tickets affordable ($20 or so) and big huge bands like Tool or NIN cost too much.

10:20 am "Stand Up And Be Strong" Soul Asylum (They're back with a new album.)
1:20 pm "3 Libras" A Perfect Circle (Since Darren commented about APC, it made me want to play them.)
