Corey O'Brien Loves Meg White

My dear friend Corey O'Brien who works weeknights from 7 to midnight here at X96 is a little too excited about the new White Stripes album, GET BEHIND ME SATAN. We got him an advance copy of it, and he's been walking around with that "special glow." I think he's in heat. Anyway, he's playing the whole CD tonight at midnight.

I pried the CD from his sweaty hands and listened to it at home this morning. It's actually pretty damn good. Stay up and check it out.

Big Ass Show 2005

It's the time of the year when I have to start putting together a lineup for the X96 Big Ass Show. I have already confirmed 3 acts, but I'd like your suggestions for bands--and remember that we want to keep tickets cheap, so don't tell me to book Red Hot Chili Peppers unless you want to pay $55 per ticket. Tell me who you want to see at the 2005 X96 Big Ass Show by posting a comment.

my mom touched Orrin Hatch last night

Yesterday I was with my family at the Dee Event Center for Fremont High School's graduation ceremony. (My little brother graduated--wahoo!)

Apparently Senator Orrin Hatch had a relative graduating as well and he was in attendance. Afterward I followed my mother though the crowded hallway to find my brother. She ran into Orrin Hatch in the crowd, patted his arm and said, "Well, hello."

I held my breath waiting for secret service agents to jump her, but nothing happened. Orrin simply smiled at her and said, "Hello." It was cute. My mom makes me laugh. He was a complete gentleman.
