Friday!

Hey y'all. In case you HAVEN'T heard, we got the new AFI song last night. Davey called Corey O'Brien and debuted the song at 7:15. We're playing it now, so tune in to hear it.

Look. It's me as a South Park character. Note the detail of including my kitty. Thanks to my evil twin Darin Anderson for this picture.

Wham-Bam, Thank You, Ma'am.

I'm back from my whirlwind trip to New York. Honestly, this is almost absurd when you think about it. I don't think that this has sunk in yet, and I remain cautiously optimistic with regard to the future success of RATED F. Nothing like a trip to New York to make this little Hooper, Utah boy feel so small. It is strange to think that a publisher just flew me to New York for a photo shoot for some upcoming press for the re-release of RATED F. It just doesn't seem real to me yet. There is an excellent possibility that these photos will be incorporated into some full-page magazine ads for the book.

What?

More about that later. It seems completely unreal.

As soon as I get the photos back from the advertising agency that is handling this whole thing, I'll post a few. Until then, I went nuts with my camera phone. Here is a series of shots from my taxi cab ride from JFK to Tarrytown, New York.

Irvington on the Hudson is a gorgeous wooded area about 45 minutes outside of Manhattan. The agency picked this studio because, as they said, "God, we just wanted to get out of Manhattan for the day!" Below is a photo taken from my hotel room window.

Errico Studio (www.erricostudio.com) is right on the bank of the Hudson River and is surrounded by multi-million dollar mansions. This is the front of the studio.

And here I am taking photos of myself after the makeup artist finished. The real pictures are much better than these camera phone shots I did, but what the hell.

The makeup artist that they hired was awesome. She had done makeup for Al Gore and Madeline Albright the day before. Former Vice President one day, and nerdy geek from Utah the next. She does makeup for everybody!

To The Airport!

I'm off for my quick trip to New York. I fly out at 9:50 am and I'll be back in town late tomorrow. This is still stunning to me that a publisher is interested in marketing my book. I started writing in high school and really got serious about it in 1994 when I wrote a one-act play. None of this would be happening without your support. Thank you.

Be kind to the lovely and charming Portia who is covering my shift.

In New York Tomorrow!

Tomorrow my publisher is flying me to New York for a photo shoot for the re-release of RATED F. It's a quick trip; I'll be back in town late Wednesday night. Portia will fill my shift on Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm nervous, surprised, and excited all at the same time.
