Branden from The Used

Happy Saturday!

Yesterday you may have heard our buddy Branden (bad-ass drummer) from The Used on the air talking about the band and some of his other pursuits. Since I think Branden is one of the coolest dudes I've ever met, I want to direct you to his killer new line of skateboards. Check out www.twentytwentyskateboards.com. They're totally sick.

Are you liking the Shuffle Weekend? Does it suck? Does it kick booty? Send your email comments to heytodd@x96.com.

Peace,
Nukey

Today's Post is "Ghost-written"

Hi.

I have a job shadow today from Central Davis Junior High. His name is Teddy. I'm letting him do today's post...

SWEET! This totally rocks! I get to shadow Todd! This place is so awsome! There's so many buttons. And the stereo here's got the best sound system ever! It rocks. It's so cool. There's so many old CD's. There's dust on them, their really old. Hey! They've even got a T.V. in here. There's so many cool things in here. Like they've got a whole wall just devoted to crazy things. They've got Tons of comics and funny news articles or pictures, Heck, Arty has a package of gravy there. This is great! And if you get really bored, which I don't think anyone can in here, you can just stare out at the people doing stupid things.

Nine Inch Nails Kicks Ass

Let me simply summarize for you: the new Nine Inch Nails album WITH TEETH is killer! Trent Reznor is a musical genius as he forges noise, piano, and lyrics loaded with intense desperation into one great album.

In addition to our Shuffle Weekend, we're giving away the new NIN CD before you can buy it. Want to hear some of it? We're playing lots of Deep X Cuts from the new CD.

Trent = God

Todd's iPod songs on Thursday 4/28

A Celebrity Sighting ... sort of

Last night Mrs. Nuke 'Em and I went to Ogden to visit my cousin and his wife. We went to dinner at Tony's (no better pizza can be found) just above Washington Blvd.

You'll never guess who I saw in the restaurant. Never ever, ever.

I was star-struck.

Ladies and gentlemen, one of my heroes ... an inspiration that dates back to when I was twelve ... was sitting at a table in Tony's. It was legendary demolition derby (and frequent champion) Steve Carroll.

Well, okay. In my demented universe he's a celebrity.

Maybe it's the redneck in me, but I love a good demolition derby, and Steve Carroll has been doing it for many years. His career dates back to the early 80's when they used to have weekly demolition derbies at Lagoon. You always knew it was him because he tends to drive Chrysler products and usually paints them blue with the number 6 on the door.

In 2001, I drove the X96 car in the Salt Lake County Fair DJ demolition derby. I won first place. In 2002 I drove for KJQ (this was during my one-year absence from X96) and won again. Steve Carroll was there, of course, driving with the professional drivers. I even went and said hi to him and explained that I'd been watching him drive for years. What a cool guy. I'm totally serious.

I should have paid for his pizza!

Anyway, that's the honest to god truth. I like demolition derbies and I've driven twice and won both times. The trophy is in my cubicle. Ask Corey O'Brien. Ask our little punk buddy Zack. They'll back me up.

Oh, and can I, uh, borrow your car?

Last Night's Everwood

On last night's EVERWOOD there was more drama as Ephram considered tracking down his son's whereabouts. He went to the address of his son that was put up for adoption only to not approach the family. He even went so far as to break up with Amy, again. I'm sure they'll get back together ... right? Isn't that the whole premise of the show?

Again guys, the important lesson here is don't knock up the baby sitter.

There was also a character named Topher who is supposedly a high school student, but he looks like a guy my age.

Note the exterior of the Everwood high school is filmed at Juan Diego High.

X Amounts of Cash

X Amounts of Cash returns on Monday, May 2nd. Win up to $960 just for listening to X96.

We're beefing it up this time.

Details are on the way...

Todd the Plumber

Howdy y'all!

On Saturday I was forced into acting responsible because a toilet in my home was leaking. All by myself I went to Home Depot and bought the little wax gadget that seals the toilet to the pipe. I am not skilled in the construction department at all, but my repair appears to have been successful.

So give me a call if you need some plumbing repairs. I also know how to install sprinklers.

By the way I had X96 cranked all day on Saturday when I was ripping the toilet out of the floor. Was the Shuffle Weekend sweet or what?
