X Sets Weekend

We're doing X-Sets this weekend. It starts today at 3 with Artie Fufkin. I promise that we'll dig into the library and surprise you with some deeper cuts that you haven't heard in a while.

Todd's plans for the weekend:

1. Stay at work too late tonight.
2. Wake up and continue editing the new novel I wrote with Zack Shutt.
3. Drive to my under construction house and make sure everything's okay.
4. Watch the BYU football game with my brother.
5. Whatever my wife wants to do.

Capote

I'm a fan of renowned author Truman Capote, so I went to see Capote on opening weekend. It chronicles his research regarding the book In Cold Blood.

As many of you know, I'm a small-time author (buy a copy of RATED F by Todd C. Noker) looking to make it big. After watching Capote, I've decided that I need to live the lifestyle of many of my favorite authors--they tend to be a bit eccentric.

1. I need to become an alcoholic.
2. I need to develop a drug problem.
3. I need to affect mannerisms that cause people to question my sexuality.
4. I need to have odd rumors circulate about my personal life.
5. I need to have a messed up childhood.

Once I accomplish those five things, I'll be a huge success!

THIS IS A SHOCKING HEADLINE!

This sentence gets your attention and makes you want to read the rest of this blog entry. In order to provide description of my topic, I am telling you more about this post in the second sentence. A sentence fragment for emphasis. Damn good device.

This is a new paragraph. More details are included here. This shocking sentence refers back to the shocking headline, which is why you are still reading this blog entry. A sentence fragment. Another.

Is this a rhetorical question to make the reader wonder about the blog topic?

This statement is in bold, for emphasis.

And this is the final thought of the blog post today.

Nine Trick-Or-Treaters

We had a grand total of nine kids in costume at our apartment last night. That's an all-time low. My favorite? Zack's little sister as Elmo. (It was a sort of cranky, Russian Elmo, actually.)

So now I have left over candy. I guess I'll have to eat it.

Tragic News

Tonight's Hawthorne Heights, Bayside, Silverstein, and Aiden show is cancelled due to a terrible accident in Wyoming as they traveled to Salt Lake City. Bayside drummer John Beatz was killed.

I have grown fond of the people and bands at Victory Records ever since I got to know them while planning the Big Ass Show. I developed an odd kinship with Victory Records and respect their integrity toward their artists. It is unusual to see a record label with such concern to develop their bands. This tragedy hits especially close, because the Victory Records establishment seems to me to be a close-knit family of people who believe in good music. My heart goes out to everyone at Victory Records, and to the friends and family of the members of Bayside.

These guys were simply following their dream, working hard to spread the awareness of their music.

***UPDATE***
Here is the official press release from Victory Records:
