The Pioneer Day Shuffle

Pioneer children sang as they walked and walked and walked and walked ... and walked.

And they were listening to X96 on Shuffle the entire time! To celebrate this trek, we're bringing you a Pioneer Day Shuffle Weekend. You'll hear songs from the late 1800's all the way through today.

Watch for us at the Van's Warped Tour tomorrow. Make sure you say hello to me.

Fine The President

Did you hear about President Bush using the "S" word on an open microphone at the G8 Summit? Shouldn't he be fined $300,000 for using such a dirty word? I think so. Fair is fair. His administration would surely fine me $300,000 for saying the same word on the radio. It would lead to the end of my radio career. I'd be ruined, just for one little word that everyone uses.

That's just my humble opinion.

It's about my buddy John Reese. He's a band manager and has always been helpful to me in booking bands for the X96 Big Ass Show. There aren't a lot of people in the music business who truly understand it. This guy knows his stuff. (Plus he's always good for some Guns and Roses stories!)

Warped Tour This Saturday

Warped is this Saturday! I'm told by their record label that 30 Seconds To Mars is playing our Warped date, too. Remember to drink lots of water and take advantage of the misting stations that will be everywhere. X96 is sponsoring a Chill Out building to keep you cool as well. They will allow you to bring a factory sealed bottle of water; I recommend this, as temperatures will exceed 100 degrees.

Todd In Train Heaven

Here are some pictures from my vacation. I spent a couple of days at Ely, Nevada, at the Nevada Northern Railroad. Yes, I am a certified train geek.

I'm driving a diesel locomotive with a real engineer making sure I don't cause a train wreck.

I rode in the cab of this 1909 steam locomotive. It was hot, dirty, and abolutely amazing to watch the crew operate this classic.

2006 Lifeguard Games

I'm officially back from vacation, just in time to host the American Red Cross Lifeguard Games for 2006. This competition is among different teams of lifeguards from area pools, testing their skills. We had a blast meeting all the different teams of lifeguards, playing music as they competed yesterday.

The Fairmont team had an interesting name for their squadron, and I thought a photo of their shirts with mine would look nice.
