Happy Birthday X96!
Fourteen years ago, in February of 1992, I worked round the clock with a team of dedicated individuals to build X96. We operated out of an old studio in Provo, and were able to resurrect alternative music for the Wasatch Front with our own blood, sweat, tears, and personal CD collections.
It was a labor of love, and I can honestly say that after all these years it still feels the same. Thanks for supporting us all these years. We'd be nowhere without you.
Fourteen years ... damn ... it's hard to believe...

10:20 am "Shake The Disease" Depeche Mode (The first song played on X96 at 12:01 am 2/14/1992.) (It might have been the 13th of Feb. My memory is failing me!)
1:20 pm "Tower of Strength" Mission UK (After talking about HIM and how they were influenced by this band enough to bring in producer Tim Palmer who worked with Mission UK in their earlier albums, I wanted to play some old goth stuff. This particular song, I believe, was produced by the legendary John Paul Jones.)

I should send x96 balloons. Someone told me once that one of the original people to that started x96 was the person that started 107.5 (now 101.9) the end. is that true?

believe it or not there is a HUGE Mission fanbase here in SLC.
just go to a Redemption show ~ you might be surprised. It's cool to see all the "kids" wearing Siouxsie & Smiths t-shirts, but some of them actually love these bands from the early "goth" scene.
